About The Firm
A different type of legal partner.
Joseph A. Edgar
Joe is a different kind of attorney, which is something you’ll notice once you speak with him. Before law school, he was running operations for a marine construction company throughout the U.S. and the Caribbean. Since then, Joe’s approach to building a legal career has been simple: gain the same entrepreneurial experience his clients have.
Alongside his nearly 15 years of legal experience in business law, natural resource law, and private capital, he’s launched a water tech startup, co-founded an off-grid energy company, become a partner in a New York City-based hospitality group, and most recently, partnered to launch a Midland-based E&P operator. He even served as general counsel to a U.S. Presidential campaign (it was a lot of fun, but he did not win). As both an attorney providing counsel and a business owner having to make real-world decisions, Joe knows what it takes to make payroll, raise capital, strategize for the long term, navigate regulatory issues, and manage people problems.
Joe splits his time between his New York and Texas offices, which means he is either overdressed or underdressed depending on the meeting. Outside of work, he has two wonderful children and a very patient wife.
